Subscription boxes, part 3: Tamed Wild

Image
I just recently subscribed to Tamed Wild . It was sort of a toss up between that and Mindful Souls. However, Mindful Souls is about $20 more per month.  Since I subscribed at the end of March I ended up with the Ostara box even though Ostara had already passed. Possibly I should have waited a bit longer.  So was it worth the $20 subscription is the main question. Well, and that is sort of subjective because it also depends whether you like what you got, if you didn't it is pretty worthless.  First off, the box it came in was lovely, the sort of box you don't want to throw away even though you have no clue why you should save it!  I couldn't wait to open it and check out the contents!  First off, a tea light or "ritual candle" they call it. No information on what this is made from so I assume it is a normal candle, not soy or beeswax. Meh! I would not buy. Second, Rose of Jericho. I wasn't really sure what this was for. No real information other than it is a s

Subscription Boxes, part 2: Ipsy

COVID has been tough on all of us! Not being able to go out shopping for any girlie stuff I subscribed to Ipsy about a year ago.  For those of you who don't know, Ipsy sends out a monthly subscription bag with about 5 items. Most are sample size, but some are full sized. It is $12 per month and if you consider most full sized beauty products (of a good brand) can easily be $10, it is a good deal. Plus, you get to try a lot of new products that you wouldn't necessarily want to buy just to try them.  I just love the little bags so much! You would think getting one a month would be too much, but I use them for all sorts of stuff, not just cosmetics. They are great for crafting supplies, especially if you have a lot of small stuff like beads or even crochet supplies like hooks and needles. I even have a bag full of spare batteries!  The problem with Ipsy during this past year has been that many of the products I can't really use. Skin care and eye makeup is really about it be

Subscription Boxes, part 1: Loot Crate

Image
The first subscription box I subscribed to was Loot Crate . I am not sure how much Loot Crate costs now, but at that time I believe it was around $12 and I felt you got good value for that price. Every month I would get a t-shirt, action figure and at least one or two other geeky things. I really had nowhere to keep the action figures and wasn't interested in most of them and gave them to my nephew. So after about 6 months I decided to switch to their girlie loot crate, which was higher priced. I believe I stayed with that about 6 months until I realized that most things they sent were too girlie for me. For example, one month was a Disney Beauty and the Beast scarf. I am sure I would have loved it if I were 5 years old, but I am many years past that. A lot of months the stuff just seemed too childish and so I canceled my Loot Crate Girlie subscription.  I do still have most of my Loot Crate t-shirts and was happy with those (especially my David Bowie Labyrinth one) and believe if
