  Near Deming. 

 So I know the first thing that came to mind was that it looked like my dog's kong toy, which it did. It wasn't until I was waking up the next morning that I realized it looked a lot like my blanket! The shade of green was different, but it was the same colors! It looked very much like the top shaped one, only with some rusty red added to it and no cat hair! Just weird! 

 This occurred on Sept 15, 2021 just east of Albuquerque, NM. Below is my facebook post from that day. Around 7:30 this evening I was sitting out on the front porch. Watching the sunset and playing on my phone. I look up to the south and there is this THING in the sky! It reminded me of my dog's kong toy. It was bell shaped and floating silently across the sky. I took video and photos. Sadly, only 1 short video exists because apparently I was so excited that I forgot to click record! No matter, you need full screen to actually see it on the video because I couldn't zoom and I don't know that would work here on FB. I could have thought that maybe this was just a hot air balloon because it seemed to be around that size (no sound from it), but I took four steps back after my photos, yelled into the house for Brit to come out and see it and when I look for it again it was GONE! JUST DISAPPEARED! The photos need to be enlarged as much as possible to see it. Some additional notes...

 Last night around 11:00 I went into the kitchen to get my tea that had been seeping. Mind you, I had been in the kitchen just a few moments before pouring the hot water and adding the tea and noticed nothing unusual. When I entered there was the most overwhelming strong smell! It was not necessarily a bad smell, it was like a very sweet smelling perfume, but like a gallon of whatever it was had spilled! The only thing I could come up with was that my fruit on the counter was rotting, but it was fine. I then checked my tea to make sure that wasn't it. No. I stuck my nose in every cabinet, the fridge and the trash and the smell did not seem to be coming from any of those places! I went back to the living room pondering what on earth it could be. A minute later Brit went into the kitchen comes back into the living room and asks me why the kitchen smells like perfume. I tell him I have no idea and will have to figure it out tomorrow.  Gardens are great, but you do end up with more than you can eat even with a small garden like mine. So today I had to do some preserving for later.  I had planned to make pickles, so I could have made the brine last night for it to chill, but of course that didn't cross my mind so I made it today and had to wait for it to chill a bit. In the mean time I made brunch for us and made Brit a smoothie. Then I decided to shred my zucchini for freezing. I have the magical salad shooter that make it really easy. I did two zucchinis and ended up with 3 cups shredded. Then you just squeeze as much water as possible out of them and pop into a freezer bag so you can use in the future for bread or stir fry. I like to write on the bag how many cups are in it.  Then I noticed that I had one lone NM chile, so I got some tomatoes, onion, cilantro and lime and made some pico. I also chopped extra onion for my pickles later and then totally forgot to add it to my pickles! Not a big deal, c...

Probably about half my garden consists of peppers.  Serrano is doing great!  Jalapeno was slow, but now I have about 7 little babies!  Thai pepper are slow to turn red, but there are lots of them!  NM Chiles are doing super well and were the first to have babies. Still waiting for the purple bell pepper to get any sort of baby. I've never had much luck with bells for some reason. The reason I like growing peppers so much isn't for the pepper really. I can buy peppers pretty cheap at any market. The leaves are really why I grow them, they are great in salads and stir fry! Of course, the peppers don't go to waste either!
