Mr. Stacky topples, but survives!

I went out to check my garden today only to find my Mr. Stacky planter had blown over in the heavy winds last night! Thankfully only one plant had actually come out of its pot and there was only a bit of soil lost that I replaced. It seems fine now that it is back upright. It was probably mostly my fault since the ground is not completely level where I have it (or pretty much anywhere in my yard). 





As you can maybe see from the photos, my kale and herbs (especially cilantro and lemon balm) are super happy! I still have one stack left that could be planted, but with it blowing over last night I am not sure about doing that. The top would totally be spilled out all over if there had been anything in there. Also, I kept a heavy metal garden sculpture with a heavy solid glass ball (it must weigh close to 5 lbs) in the top to try to keep it from blowing over! 

Oh, and the top photo of this post is my mulberry tree! It is just full of berries! I am so happy because there were very few berries last summer and I was afraid it might be sick.

  A few weeks back I saw cute obsidian aliens like Pablo on one of those overpriced new agey sites. They wanted $45 dollars, plus shipping! I didn't like it that much so I checked Etsy and found I could get the exact same one from China for under $20 including shipping. He arrived today! I was sitting outside and enjoying rubbing his smooth cool head, not really thinking of anything and all of the sudden the name Pablo popped into my mind! I just assumed he was telling me his name. I would expect a Chinese name, but no that is what came into my head and it was pronounced correctly. Right now I am planning on keeping Pablo next to my bed, which may or may not be a good idea. I wait to see if he has anything else to say!  Addendum: I looked up the meaning of the name Pablo and it was "small and humble." As you can see he is quite small.

Subscription Boxes, part 2: Ipsy

 COVID has been tough on all of us! Not being able to go out shopping for any girlie stuff I subscribed to Ipsy about a year ago.  For those of you who don't know, Ipsy sends out a monthly subscription bag with about 5 items. Most are sample size, but some are full sized. It is $12 per month and if you consider most full sized beauty products (of a good brand) can easily be $10, it is a good deal. Plus, you get to try a lot of new products that you wouldn't necessarily want to buy just to try them.  I just love the little bags so much! You would think getting one a month would be too much, but I use them for all sorts of stuff, not just cosmetics. They are great for crafting supplies, especially if you have a lot of small stuff like beads or even crochet supplies like hooks and needles.
