Not everyone in her party -- there is Alaska and the few hockey moms (or want to be hockey moms) in the rest of the US.

However, if you have been keeping tabs of the Republican Governors Convention (and who hasn't, eh?) you realize that most of her own party is embarrassed by her and can't distance themselves from her quick enough. Not to mention her mere entertainment value insures that the media will always be at her speech and totally ignore everything else. They hang on her every word just waiting for some huge screw up to report on.

No huge screw ups this time, but still the same Sarah Palin, even using references to Joe the Plumber.

I personally think Sarah could have skipped the Governors Convention for other things, like brushing up on what countries make up North America, but that is my opinion. What do I know? I am just a blogger after all and probably typing this in my parents basement while wearing PJs.

Wait a sec, I am not in my parents basement. I am in my own house, in MY blogging headquarters. I am not wearing PJs, but I am probably not dressed for the occasion. I am wearing sweat pants and a sweatshirt. I suppose by Palin rules I should be wearing a tight black skirt, red leather jacket, and shiny black stiletto heeled boots.

Just ignore anything I said. It can't possibly be taken seriously since I am not dressed appropriately for blogging.

One more thing, I had thought that Sarah was someone who would disappear after the election, but it is clear that she is not going to go away gracefully, so she has earned her own tag on this blog.

I said I wasn't going to, but McCain forced me into it.

Not that I don't like Obama, but really at this point I distrust all politicians and normally figure that anyone who has made it high enough to be the nominee of their party is dirty in some way.

After watching how McCain's campaign has been conducting itself I voted for Obama mainly out of hate for them.

McCain made two very bad decisions in the past couple months. One was choosing Sarah Palin and the other is the hateful way he has conducted his campaign.

I could not possibly vote for a man who thought Sarah Palin was the best choice for VP after only meeting her once. It is rather like Bush saying he trusts Putin after only meeting him once and looking into his eyes. Now McCain is paying for his bad decision, but if he ever became President it would be all of us that would pay for his bad decisions and we have already had 8 years of paying for a President's bad decisions.

Before anyone accuses me of being irresponsible or of having lost my mind completely, let me preface these remarks by stating that I am offering them as a kind of goose-bumpy thrill ride into the House of Horrors that has become the American political discourse during this campaign season. We have all heard that Barack Obama is either a Muslim (so what if he was? But he is not); a guy who “pals around with terrorists” (well, he doesn’t, but his opponent did pal around with G. Gordon Liddy), or is actually a socialist or a communist (fat chance) or, at best, anti-American (how does that work, actually?).

What if the alternative theory is true? What if everything they are saying about Barack Obama was actually true about his opponent (except, maybe, the Muslim thing)?

Think about it. John McCain was a prisoner of war during the Vietnam War. He was held in a North Vietnamese prison for years. Given an opportunity to leave before his comrades, he did not. As everyone who has spoken about McCain – whether for him or against him – has pointed out, John McCain is a genuine American hero.

Except, of course, that is precisely what was said about the Manchurian Candidate.

I have to agree with this article -- Lieberman is a despicable person. Probably I despise him even more than McCain or Palin. He turned on his own party and then tried to pretend that he is a moderate. He isn't a moderate -- he is a Republican Neo-Con who has supported the Iraq war and George Bush for 8 years. On MSNBC, she said, "What I would say is that the news media should do a penetrating expose and take a look. I wish they would. I wish the American media would take a great look at the views of the people in Congress and find out, are they pro-America or anti-America? I won't lie to you. I am a huge John Cusack fan. I doubt there is a John Cusack movie that I haven't seen. That fact that may slightly taint my judgment on this movie, but only slightly, if at all.

In War, Inc., John Cusack plays a hit man who is sent to Turaqistan, a country occupied by an American corporation (which is kind of like a blending of Halliburton and Blackwater) to pose as a trade show organizer in order to complete a hit on a certain person that the corporation does not like. Dan Aykroyd does a hilarious job portraying the President of the corporation who also happens to be a former Vice President of the US. Throw in the lovely Marisa Tomei as the liberal reporter that Cusack falls in love with and Hillary Duff as a spoiled, oversexed Turaqi pop princess and you have total fun!

It is mostly funny in a kind of sad way because it is so close to the truth about Iraq. Yes -- satire.

I am going to guess that how you feel about this film will depend how you feel about the Iraq war, but I totally loved it! And to prove it -- I give it 4.25 stars, which I believe is the highest rating I have ever given a movie on any of my blogs.

Many were surprised that Sarah Palin didn't drool, get that deer in the headlights look or make a completely senseless statement. However, that shouldn't have been a surprise since most of her time since being selected as McCain's VP has been behind closed doors in "training camp."

So no, she didn't fuck up big time. However, there wasn't any substance there either.

Most of the time she seemed to be repeating memorized talking points. No real details of any kind were given. Not really what McCain and she were planning, mostly what Obama did that was wrong. A lot of cheer leading for McCain. Yes, I know VPs do that in the debates, but she seemed to do it far more than anyone I have ever seen.

The thing that irritated me most about her was that most of the time she refused to answer the ACTUAL question and instead rattled off her list of talking points. At one point I believe Biden asked her to answer the actual question and she said something like "I am not going to answer the way you want me to. I am going to talk about taxes." That is not a quote, but it is basically what she said.

Then sometime during the debate I witnessed one of the strangest things I have ever seen. Biden told of his wife and child dying in the auto accident, how he was left to raise his two sons alone and almost broke into tears. I would have expected anyone involved in that debate to take notice of that and say something -- ANYTHING. Yes, even if they didn't mean it I would expect them to take a moment and say that was a horrible tragedy and they were sorry he had to go through that. No. She went directly back into cheer leading for McCain and didn't seem to even be aware of what had just happened or been said.

Lastly, she kept trying to make a point by saying Biden and Obama were living in the past because they keep talking about what Bush did wrong. They are living in the past and McCain/Palin want to move us into the future. Apparently she doesn't know that those who don't know the past are doomed to repeat it. You have to look back to know why things are screwed up now. If you aren't willing to do that it makes it obvious that you won't change a damn thing.

Obviously that photo doesn't have much of anything to do with this post other than being an image of Sarah Palin (after she has killed Bigfoot). I didn't want election season to pass by without getting to use it again and so here it is.

So how will sassy Sarah or "Joe Six-Pack" (as she likes to be known) fair in the debate tonight?

I did read an article earlier suggesting that she had been faking her dumbness in order to throw off Joe Biden. If so, she deserves an Academy Award. It isn't likely she could fake that look of total confusion and blankness when asked certain questions. Hey, I will admit to knowing that look myself when asked certain things, but I am not running for what may end up being President of the US. Likely if Sarah Palin asked me the best way to skin a bear I would have that look, along with the one of total disgust.

But really how bad will she be? Will we think -- at least she isn't as dumb as George Bush? Will we all be shocked that someone even dumber than Bush has made it to that point? Have all her practice debates paid off and she will have memorized responses to most questions?

Oh, I can't wait to find out! As with the Obama/McCain debate I will be hanging on Twitter and popping in with a comment from time to time. After the debate I will still be on twitter for a bit and responding to after debate comments. :-)
